This is quite a gem in Menaggio - although can be a bit of a walk up from Piazza Roma, we took a bus up and had a nice stroll downhill after a lovely lunch al fresco. Umberto was amazing, the food was great served in a relaxing courtyard. We had pizzocheri, marinated lake fish and shrimp raviolis with a lovely dessert to go with a nice bottle of prosecco - all very good. Be sure to make reservations as they can get very busy. The only place you should eat in Menaggio! Amazing dishes and waiters! Couldn’t have asked for a better evening all round! Would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Best in Lake Como!

Wonderful restaurant off the beaten path way up high in the mountains, but was definitely worth the trek up. Between the two of us, we ate two dishes made with local fish specialities (I will let Umberto tell you the names of it), and they were amazing with great synergy. The service and ambience were top notch.

Gianni and team are first class. Food is absolutely fantastic and the service the best we have recieved during our time in como this week. Phenomenal authentic restaurant, well priced and fabulous food with exceptional service - well worth venturing slightly off the beaten path and tourist traps in close proximity to the lake (short 10-20min walk to venue here) for authentic, wholesome and quality Italian cuisine

I am so grateful because Trattoria La Vecchia Magnolia helped me set up a very special surprise for my dad’s birthday! I was able to communicate with Umberto, who was incredibly accommodating and friendly, prior to their arrival in order to cover their check. The entire staff was super gracious in celebrating my dad and engaged in the surprise. My parents had an incredible meal - bresaola, tagliata, grilled lake fish. Thank you!!

Great trattoria in the beautiful and quaint village of Loveno, above Menaggio. The staff are absolutely lovely, very welcoming and attentive and have a deep knowledge about the food they serve. A lot of the local dishes on offer, such as the Taròz and Pizzocheri are specific to this region and made on the premises from local produce. We started the meal with the Taròz which tasted amazing, together with a fish platter which included fish from both Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, followed by a Tagliata di Manzo with grain mustard and rocket with a balsamic vinegar glaze, all beautifully presented. The beef was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth! Dessert was a beautiful homemade Tiramisù which finished the meal off perfectly! Cannot believe we've been coming to the area for the last seven years and have only just discovered this gem but so glad we did! Highly recommended if you want something a bit different from what other local restaurants offer. Can't wait to return again!

Warm welcoming, simple but delicious food made from local ingredients, cozy atmosphere that what you expect from real italian trattoria and all of that you can find here at Trattoria La Vecchia Magnolia. As a starter we had fried cheese balls with a salad, also we ordered local fish, grill vegetables and cheese polenta. Everything tasted just great. I wish we could have more time here in Como so we could visit this place few more times.

This is such an Italian gem. Gave me an authentic Italian experience with the shared course meals. The food was incredible. One of our favourite meals so far. We got the cheese balls to start, and than the gnocchi and white fish for dinner. The tiramisu was the best one we’ve ever had! The service was great, he gave us great recommendations.
